The article explores the basic mechanisms of state regulation of land valuation, existing problems and trends aimed to improve valuation methods. It reveals the most common practical scope of land valuation. The author makes accent on the general tendency of further growth of suburban areas of major cities and urban agglomerations. The regions of Ukraine have been classified in terms of market value.
