A research interest in the difference of male and female written expression on social media platforms, namely Instagram. The relevance consists in the necessity to explore gender representation on one of the most popular social media platforms. The novelty of the research consists in the analysis of language data produced by individuals whose language style has not been analysed yet.
As the basis for the practical part we analysed the posts of two celebrities: an actress Lili Reinhart who currently has 29 billion followers and Cole Sprouse with the audience amounting to 35.5 billion followers. These two celebrities are primarily known for starring in Netflix TV series called “Riverdale”.
The total amount of analysed posts is 200 meaning 100 posts for each of them.
The object of the thesis is male and female language on Instagram.
The subject is language units peculiar to male and female written communication on Instagram.
