The paper investigates the terminology of robotics and its characteristics. The methods of description, classification and comparison are used to analyze the linguistic characteristics of robotics terminology. Based on the data, including articles and glossaries on the official websites of American technology companies and organizations, the article identifies and classifies different types of robotics terminology, analyzes their lexical, semantic and structural characteristics, and identifies the most commonly used type of robotics terminology, the result being the compiled glossary.
The data show the rich connotation of robotics terminology and its connection with other disciplines and concepts which helps to better understand the distinctive characteristics and peculiarities of terminology use in modern English.
