The study of prosody is a popular and actively developed topic in linguistics. Nevertheless, prosody for a long time was not an object of special research due to the lack of technical equipment and the traditional orientation towards written speech. Only in the early 50s of the twentieth century, American and English researchers F. Goldman-Eisler, F.G. Lawnsbury and G. Mal, studying the features of oral speech, initiated the experimental study of oscillation pauses.
The current situation is characterized by the intensive development of international relations, a variety of communication channels, which increases the need for effective oral communication without prior preparation.
The object of the research is the Oscar winner’s emotional speech.
The subject of the research is the phonetic characteristics of the Oscar winner’s emotional speech and its gender variability.
