Відтворення американського судового дискурсу в українському дубльованому перекладі серіалу “Американська історія злочинів”

У ході виконання роботи досліджено оригінальну та дубльовану версії першого сезону судової драми “Американська Історія Злочинів: Народ проти О. Джея Сімпсона”.
Визначено поняття американського судового дискурсу, окреслено його ключові риси. Класифіковано стратегії і тактики відтворення лексико-стилістичних та культурних одиниць американського судового дискурсу в перекладі, визначено проблематику їх відтворення. Проаналізовано та порівняно вихідну та цільову версії елементів судового дискурсу серіалу.
Охарактеризовано перекладацькі стратегії та тактики, які використовуються у дубльованому перекладі американського судового дискурсу у досліджуваному матеріалі, оцінено їх ефективність.
Цінність роботи полягає у можливості застосування отриманих результатів для фахової підготовки перекладачів галузевого перекладу, читанні лекційних курсів з перекладознавства, написанні студентських наукових робіт, розробці загальнотеоретичних курсів і підручників з теми.

The field of court proceedings requires meticulous attention to every word, phrase, and expression. Courtroom speech constitutes a unique genre of language with distinct features and norms. Translating this genre is a complex and delicate process that requires careful consideration of a multitude of factors. In recent years, the study of legal discourse in general and court discourse as its subtype in particular has been influenced by a reevaluation of the significance of language in legal proceedings and its effect on the outcome of trials. The emergence of Ukraine as a subject of international law and the process of its integration into the global legal system necessitate a better understanding of the traditions of court discourse and a qualified translation of court-related materials, including audiovisual ones. The topic of the research is rendering American court discourse in the Ukrainian dubbed translation of the series "American Crime Story".
Therefore, technical and time constraints, as well as lip-sync requirements, heavily influence the translator's decisions. The use of neutralization and domestication strategies facilitates comprehension of the material by the Ukrainian audience and stylistic adaptation of the product to the requirements of Ukrainian filmmaking. However, this results in a loss of the pragmatic effect and imagery of the original phrases. The use of a foreignization strategy to translate cultural references while retaining the specificity of US court discourse may result in audience misinterpretations.
Overall, the Ukrainian translation is sufficient for the viewer to comprehend the material, but improvements are possible. The strategies and tactics employed by the translator were influenced by the requirements of audiovisual translation.
