The aim. The main object of recreational nature management is the geographical landscape, whose assessment is part of a comprehensive study of tourist and recreational potential of the region. This research aims to identify the most valuable territories in terms of aesthetic. Research methods. Objective and subjective approaches were used to assess attractiveness of the landscapes of Volyn region. An objective approach is based on taking into account the main components of natural systems. The subjective approach is based on evaluating the emotional impact of landscape properties on human. The results. The landscape and scenery complexes of Volyn region are represented in the article as taxonomic units to conduct a comprehensive assessment of their aesthetic appeal. As a result of the evaluation, four degrees of attractiveness of the landscapes were selected. Landscapes of the upper Pripyat landscape and scenery complex is the most valuable in the aesthetic sense. Landscape complexes of river valleys of Pripyat, Stokhid, Styr and forests of Manevychi region are landscapes of high aesthetic value. Landscape complexes of river valleys of Western Bug, Turija and small rivers of Volyn upland, agricultural landscapes of Bug-Turiysky watershed and forest landscapes of Kivertsi are landscapes of average value. The least attractive landscape and scenery complexes became agricultural landscapes of slightly hilly watershed areas of Volyn upland and denudation undulating plains. Scientific innovation. Patterns of landscape and scenery differentiation of Volyn region were revealed in the article. The results of a comprehensive evaluation of aesthetically attractiveness of landscapes of the region were obtained for the first time. Cartographic materials based on the studies were established. Practical significance. Evaluation of the landscapes aesthetic appeal is relevant to the rational planning of economic activity territorial organization, especially for the development of recreational and environmental activities.
