Індивідуальний стиль Пауло Коельо в романі «Над річкою П'єдрою, там я сиділа та й плакала» та засоби його відтворення в українському перекладі

The thesis clarifies the theoretical foundations of the study on the essence of literary translation, examines the problems of translating contemporary Brazilian literature, and identifies the factors that shape Paulo Coelho's individual style.
This scientific work analyzes the key features of the novel «By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept» and identifies the ways of reproducing Paulo Coelho's individual style in the Ukrainian translation.
The study of Paulo Coelho's individual style in the novel «By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept» was based on the analysis of language characteristics at the lexical, morphological and syntactic levels.
The results of the study demonstrate that the translation of the novel «By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept» into Ukrainian is identical to the original and preserves the main features of Paulo Coelho's individual style, which ensures its adequate perception by the Ukrainian reader, but certain errors were found in conveying some stylistic and lexical nuances due to cultural and linguistic differences between Portuguese and Ukrainian. Obtained data can be used by translators, literary critics, and Portuguese learners for better understanding of Paulo Coelho's individual style peculiarities and its reproduction in translation.
