У дослідженні застосовано багатогранний підхід, що поєднує всебічний огляд літератури з емпіричними даними, зібраними за допомогою тематичних досліджень та вивчення результатів місцевих виборів.
У роботі проналізовано організаційні структури, динаміку виборчих кампаній та нормативно-законодавчу базу діяльності політичних партій як в Україні, так і в зарубіжних країнах, надано детальне розуміння факторів, що формують місцеві політичні ландшафти. Основна увага приділяється впливу історичних, культурних та інституційних чинників на розвиток політичних партій в Україні, а також їхній ефективності у місцевому самоврядуванні. Європейський досвід слугує орієнтиром для оцінки найкращих практик, висвітлюючи потенційні сфери для вдосконалення української виборчої системи.
Результати дослідження сприяють науковому дискурсу щодо динаміки політичних партій на місцевих виборах, проливаючи світло на виклики та можливості, які виникають у різних політичних контекстах. Дисертація не лише поглиблює академічні знання, але й пропонує практичні висновки для політиків, виборчих практиків та політичних акторів, які прагнуть покращити функціонування місцевої демократії в Україні.

This master's thesis examines the role and dynamics of political parties in local elections. The study delves into the intricacies of Ukraine's local electoral processes, examining the influence of political parties on decision-making at the grassroots level.
The study adopts a multifaceted approach, combining a comprehensive literature review with empirical data collected through case studies and local election results. By analysing the organisational structures, dynamics of election campaigns and the legal framework for political parties in Ukraine and in foreign countries, the thesis aims to
provide a detailed understanding of the factors shaping local political landscapes. The focus is on the impact of historical, cultural and institutional factors on the development of political parties in Ukraine, as well as their effectiveness in local governance. The European experience serves as a benchmark for assessing best practices, highlighting potential areas for improvement of the Ukrainian electoral system.
The results of the study contribute to the academic discourse on the dynamics of political parties in local elections, shedding light on the challenges and opportunities that arise in different political contexts. The thesis not only deepens academic knowledge, but also offers practical implications for policy makers, electoral practitioners and political actors seeking to improve the functioning of local democracy in Ukraine.
Finally, this master's thesis provides a comprehensive analysis of the complex relationship between political parties and local elections, offering valuable insights that bridge the gap between Ukrainian practice and European experience. The study contributes to a broader understanding of democratic processes at the local level and opens up avenues for future research in comparative politics.
