Ensuring social security is an integral function of the state. The purpose. Considering the above, the aim of the chapter is to study the problems of ensuring social security in modern conditions and ways of solving them. Methodology. The methodological basis of the research encompasses modern general and special methods of scientific knowledge, including analysis, inductive and deductive, generalization, synthesis and forecasting. Results. In the research, social security is considered as a social phenomenon and an object of scientific research; the characteristics of social security objects are provided and the competences of the subjects of its provision are investigated; the priorities for solving the problem of ensuring social security of Ukraine in modern conditions of state formation are determined; the peculiarities of ensuring social security in the conditions of martial law are investigated. Value/originality. The originality of the research lies in the fact that the author made an attempt to generalize the competences of the subjects of social security provision defined by the current legislation, to single out the priority areas of solving the problem of social security provision of Ukraine and to investigate the peculiarities of social security provision in the conditions of martial law.
