Despite its considerable age, contemporary Landscape Science is associated with a significant number of problematic issues related to spaciotemporal organization of landscape systems. Due to the functional, dynamic and evolutional character, this organization requires justification based on the found and derived laws, principles and patterns. Otherwise, Landscape Science could «get stuck» in the labyrinth of the descriptive approach to understanding of landscape sphere organization in general, and therefore there are no effective means to deal with the challenges of both theory and practice. The complex of problems associated with landscape system organization of primarily functional character is predetermined by natural patterns, as well as fluctuation phenomena. The issues related to natural patterns occur because of the lack of knowledge. The crux of the matter is their complexity and interconnectedness. For instance, among the aforementioned issues, there are the patterns predetermined by continuous amplification of internal communication structure of landscape systems. Detection of such amplification is one of the main tasks of Landscape Science. Besides, organization principles belong to the sphere of self-organization and self regulation. The former is usually manifested during the most complicated period of landscape systems development, i.e. their transformation into other systems. Meanwhile, the latter is controlled by internal mechanisms of landscape systems and depends on their dynamics. The laws governing the properties of self organization and self-regulation within the stage of qualitative development of landscape systems are overlapping therefore, it complicates the research process. As for organization of functional structure of landscape systems of any morphological level, in most cases, it is formed by means of two opposite factors, namely the specificities of internally organized connections, as well as connections with the surrounding functional environment. In other words, apart from the organization-related principles, we have to deal with the principles related to the interaction between the systems and environment, which in fact predetermines the complexity of functional structures in terms of landscape systems. The importance of functional structure of landscape systems stems from the fact that it becomes more complicated in the process of their development. Besides, the aforementioned complication is rather ambiguous. Functional structure can either «freeze» for a certain period of time, or even retreat, i.e. diminish, especially in the simplest systems – landscape faces. In the complexity of functional structure is being increased at higher hierarchy levels, and, consequently, at lower levels as well. Identifying the essence and interconnections between these principles is one of the most important tasks of contemporary Landscape Science.ukсучасні проблеми ландшафтознавстваорганізованість ландшафтних системзалежності ландшафтної організованостіcontemporary issues of Landscape Sciencelandscape systems organizationlandscape organization dependenciesПроблеми ландшафтознавства в контексті стратегії сталого розвиткуThe Issues of Landscape Science within the Framework of Sustained Development StrategyСтаття
