У статті розглядаються основні способи формування військової термінології та методи її перекладу. Повноцінний і адекватний переклад французьких військових документів українською мовою сприятиме кращому розумінню сутності й змісту національної політики французької республіки. Військова лексика безпосередньо пов’язана з вирішенням завдань військово-політичної сфери, а також із науковими дослідженнями проблематики французької військової термінології, яка становить важливий сегмент світової військової лексики, оскільки Франція упродовж століть була центром військового мистецтва, політичного впливу й дипломатії. Військові терміни французької мови не лише функціонують у спеціалізованому дискурсі, але й активно входять до політичного, публіцистичного та повсякденного мовлення, що зумовлює актуальність дослідження.The article focuses on the study of the structural and semantic features of French military terminology and its adequate translation into Ukrainian. It examines the primary methods of forming military terminology and the strategies employed for its translation. A complete and accurate translation of French military documents into Ukrainian enhances the understanding of the essence and content of the national policy of the French Republic. Military vocabulary is directly related to the implementation of military and political objectives as well as to scholarly research on French military terminology, which represents an important segment of global military lexicon. France has for centuries been a center of military art, political influence, and diplomacy. As noted by scholars, “the development of military vocabulary was greatly influenced by the French language, which became one of the major donors enriching international specialized lexis, as it had assimilated a considerable number of Latinisms”.
