Вказано на релятивістський і суб'єктивістський характер першої, абсолютистський і об'єктивістський характер другої доктрини.The fact that there are sufferings in the world, both physical and mental, gives reasons for some philosophers to acknowledge the unevenness of the lives of different human beings. Subjective aspect is important. It is the particular individual who decides whether their life is a value to them, and in generally. It follows the focus on rationality and autonomy as the ability to make independent decisions. The consequence of this view is the denial of the right to life of every human being and, vice versa, the justification of the right to death. Representatives of the doctrine of sanctity of life, in their turn, believe that any life is equal, regardless of its manifestations. The life is not something in a human being, his or her property only; the life is a human being who lives. Therefore, the destruction of life is a crime against the person in an ontological sense.
