In the second half of the 20th century, the design of rural residential interiors in the Dnieper region in a decorative and artistic style influenced the formation of the cultural identity of the Ukrainian people. The article examines the features of the design of the interior of dwellings, the influence of factors on the formation of interior solutions, decorative elements and color scheme. The main stylistic directions are analyzed: a combination of traditional artistic techniques with new materials and forms, which was the result of the preservation of folk traditions in the design of rural residential space. Methods. The following methods were used in the study: to study the socio-cultural processes that influenced the formation of interiors in the Dnieper region - historical and cultural analysis; to compare the features of interior design in the second half of the 20th century – a comparative method; to reproduce the artistic design of interiors - analysis of archival materials and periodicals; descriptive method – to record decorative elements and materials; field research method (survey and photofixation of interiors) – to identify preserved interior solutions in private spaces. Results. The decorative and artistic design of the interior of the Dnieper region in the second half of the 20th century underwent changes, as a result of which the styles of the "Soviet" Empire were intertwined with elements of the Ukrainian Baroque and folk ornament. The collected testimonies of respondents confirm the use of wall paintings, decorative fabrics, carpets, tapestries, towels in the dwellings of peasants. Since local artists and art and industrial complexes played a leading role, rural interiors began to be decorated using modern and new materials, preserving ethnic motifs. Conclusions. The combination of traditional and modern approaches in the decorative design of interiors is an important stage in the development of the regional national culture of the Dnieper region. У другій половини ХХ ст. оформлення сільських житлових інтер'єрів Наддніпрянщини в декоративно-художньому стилі впливало на формування культурної ідентичності українського народу. У пропонованій статті розглянуто особливості оформлення внутрішнього інтер'єру осель, вплив факторів на формування інтер'єрних рішень, декоративних елементів і кольорової гами. Проаналізовано основні стилістичні напрями: поєднання традиційних  художніх прийомів з новими матеріалами та формами, що стало наслідком збереження народних традицій в оформленні сільського житлового простору.  Методи. У ході дослідження були використані такі методи: для вивчення суспільно-культурних процесів, що впливали на формування інтер'єрів у Наддніпрянщині – історико-культурний аналіз; для зіставлення особливостей оформлення інтер'єру в другій половині ХХ ст. – порівняльний метод; для відтворення мистецького оформлення інтер'єрів – аналіз архівних матеріалів і періодичних видань; описовий метод використано для фіксації декоративних елементів і матеріалів і метод польового дослідження (опитування) – для виявлення збережених інтер'єрних рішень у приватних просторах. Результати. Декоративно-художнє оформлення інтер'єру Наддніпрянщини у другій половині ХХ ст. зазнало змін, унаслідок яких переплелися стилі "радянського" ампіру з елементами українського бароко та народного орнаменту. Зібрані свідчення респондентів підтверджують використання настінного розпису, декоративних тканин, килимів, гобеленів, рушників в оселях селян. Оскільки провідну роль відігравали місцеві митці та художньо-промислові комбінати, то сільські інтер'єри почали оформлювати з використанням сучасних і нових матеріалів, зберігаючи етнічні мотиви. Висновки. Поєднання традиційних і новітніх підходів у декоративному оформленні інтер'єрів – є важливим етапом розвитку регіональної національної культури Наддніпрянщини.
