У науковій літературі досі не існує єдиного підходу до розуміння феномену психотравми і її впливу на особистість дитини. Стаття присвячена аналізу існуючих визначень психотравми і підходів до її вивчення.Emergencies, natural disasters, stressful events and mental injuries make the problem of finding rehabilitation programs, effective psychotherapeutic and psycho-corrective approaches to help people who have suffered a psychological trauma. In psychiatric and psychological literature, many concepts are used to describe psycho-traumatic processes. The main of these concepts: psychotrauma, psychogeny, stress, neurosis. At the same time, the same phenomenon is denoted by different authors by different terms, but under the same concept mean different meanings. Some scientists using the term «psychotrauma» denote both the factors of the environment, and the physical state, and the mental state, and the response of the organism. Some researchers study psychotrauma as a phenomenon in essence, but they don’t use the very concept of «psychotrauma». Virtually every person in a childhood suffered a psychological trauma, but not everyone was able to overcome the consequences of a traumatic event. Therefore many adults bear memories of the traumatic consequences of childhood. The plasticity of the child’s psyche and innate adaptive mechanisms can mitigate the effects of psychotrauma. However, post-traumatic disorder without treatment in most cases tends to recover, become chronic. Adults are living with painful experiences, which determine their choice, life position, peculiarities of relations with people, etc. This article is devoted to review the concepts of psychological trauma existing in psychotherapy and its consequences on children. Without knowledge of the causes of psychotrauma, mechanisms of occurrence, clinical condition, it is impossible to detect, prevent or overcome them.
