В роботі досліджуються процеси, що відбуваються у лексичній сфері англійської мови на сучасному етапі через вплив глобалізації та інших макросоціальних тенденцій. Автор розглядає взаємозв’язок між мовними змінами та особливостями уявлення про світ, аналізує явища лексичної еволюції, звертаючи увагу на зміни в словниковому складі мови, які відображають культурні, технологічні та соціальні зміни. Робота розкриває сутність лексичної еволюції як важливого аспекту мовної динаміки та надає інсайти щодо ролі мови у формуванні ментальної картини світу в сучасному глобалізованому суспільстві.The article examines the functioning of neologisms that entered the Oxford English Dictionary in 2023, the history of their emergence and the reasons for their spread in the language. The work studies the processes taking place in the lexical sphere of the English language at the current stage due to the influence of globalization and other macro-social trends. The author takes a close look at the relationship between the language and the social dynamics, analyzes the phenomenon of lexical evolution, paying attention to changes in the vocabulary of the language that reflect cultural, technological and social changes. The work reveals the essence of lexical evolution as an important aspect of language idiosyncrasies and provides insights into the role of language in forming the mental picture of the world in the modern globalized society. The study of lexical evolution delves into the intricate interplay between language and global trends, revealing fascinating insights into how societies perceive and express the world around them. This research explores the dynamic process by which English adapts and transforms, reflecting shifts in cultural, technological, and social landscapes. Through the analysis of the shortlist of new words which were registered in Oxford English dictionary in 2023, the author uncovers the nuanced ways in which words emerge, evolve, and sometimes fade into obscurity, mirroring the changing fabric of human experience.
