The conceptual and categorical basis of symbolic and political processes in the context of the modern development of the state and society in Ukraine was formed and analyzed. The interdisciplinary character of symbols as a defining substance for a comprehensive understanding of the interrelationship of symbolic-conditional essence and politics is meaningfully understood; the specifics of the mutual influence of political and state symbols and their role in ensuring the identification and consolidation of society are clarified; the nature and main directions of implementation of symbolic politics as a means of systemic influence on public consciousness are determined. The activation of the symbolic reflection of reality in the conditions of the instability of civilizational development and the transitional state of modern state-building processes was recorded; the all-encompassing nature of the symbolization of reality under the significant influence of virtual reality. The role of symbols as a peculiar form of interaction between the government and citizens and communicative relationships at all levels of social organization is revealed. It is proven that symbolic reality is characterized by the ability to symbolically reflect the aspirations of the electorate, the political strategy of the state, universal human values, to form the moral and spiritual basis of a certain country; ensure accessibility of the content of political programs, scientific approaches and play an important role in the political self-determination of the nation.Досліджено історичні детермінанти і сучасні параметри символічно-політичної реальності як об’єкта політологічного дослідження. Сформовано та проаналізовано понятійно-категоріальну основу символічно-політичних процесів у контексті сучасного розвитку держави й суспільства в Україні. Осмислено міжгалузевий характер символів як визначальної субстанції для всебічного розуміння взаємозв’язку знаково-умовної сутності й політики; з’ясовано специфіку взаємовпливу політичних і державних символів та їх роль у забезпеченні ідентифікації і консолідації суспільства; визначено характер і основні напрями здійснення символічної політики як засобу системного впливу на суспільну свідомість. Зафіксовано активізацію символічного відображення дійсності в умовах нестабільності цивілізаційного розвитку і перехідного стану сучасних державотворчих процесів; всеохоплюючий характер символізації дійсності під значним впливом віртуальної реальності. Розкрито роль символів як своєрідної форми взаємодії між владою і громадянами та комунікативних взаємозв’язків на всіх рівнях суспільної організації.
