Також, приділено увагу розробці методики вивчення освітніх потреб державних службовців із урахуванням нових підходів до підвищення рівня їх професійної компетеності. Здійснено аналіз основних напрямків навчальної та наукової діяльності кафедри державного управління Київського університету, окреслено плани її подальшого розвитку.Modern education, as a continuous creative process of learning of new skills and knowledge, is the basis of State stability, progressive development of society and well-being of every citizen. One of the important components of the professionalization of state service and work in local government bodies is the organization and provision of targeted training of specialists. Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv belongs to network of educational institutions of the system of trainings, retraining and professional development of state and local government officials, as it provides tranings of Master degree in the specialty "Civil Service" of the field of knowledge "Public Administration". Studying the peculiarities of this training at a leading Ukrainian higher education institution determines the relevance of this article. The purpose of the article is to find out the peculiarities of the preparation of masters of civil service at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. In order to achieve this goal, the following tasks must be performed: to analyze the general approaches to the organization of master's studies at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv; to define the specifics of the training of masters of civil service at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The professionalization of the civil service is an urgent need and an important factor in strengthening the statehood and the formation of qualitatively new social relations in Ukraine. Together with other higher educational institutions, which are training specialists in the field of civil service, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv contributes to raising the level of professional competence of civil servants.
