It is pointed out that the key feature of such life circumstances is theimpossibility of overcoming them by a person on their own, but only by the intervention of another personor authorized bodies of state power. The influence of the psychological state of a person, his emotionalwell-being in characterizing the life situation as difficult, and the importance of complex consideration ofobjective and subjective circumstances, which can characterize the life situation as difficult, are studiedseparatelyУ статті визначено ознаки складних життєвих обставин, які закріплені у Законі України«Про соціальні послуги» та проаналізовано наукові позиції вчених з досліджуваного питання.Автором надано та проаналізовано власний перелік ключових ознак, які характеризують складніжиттєві обставини. Вказано на те, що ключовою ознакою таких життєвих обставин єнеможливість їх подолання особою самостійно, а тільки за втручанням іншої людини чиуповноважених органів державної влади.
