Результати дослідження можуть бути використані для планування екологічно спрямованого розвитку сільської місцевості України, в освітніх цілях.The aim of the article is to identify tendency of development and geospatial distribution of organic agricultural production in the world, to determine the environmental and economic conditions of its development in Ukraine, to explore the dynamics of growth, specialization and spatial distribution of organic farms in Ukraine. Methodology. The study in based on a comprehensive approach, which includes a comparative, statistical and mapping methods. Results. The article traces the global tendency of the development and geospatial distribution of organic agricultural production, indicates environmental and economic conditions of its development in Ukraine. The article attempted to clarify the specialization of organic enterprises in Ukraine, to analyze their territorial extension, and as a result offers the schematic map. It was found that in 2002 – 20015 the organic production in Ukraine grew rapidly: the number of farms has increased seven times, the area of organic land in three times. Such growth was associated with demand for organic-products on the international market and a high price of these products. The specialization of the Ukrainian organic production is mainly determined by the structure of export demand. The highest share is occupied by the crop enterprises (44%), which grow corn, grain, legumes and oilseeds. The 22% of certified companies are engaged in the Ukrainian trade of organic agricultural products. While only 10% of agricultural enterprises are engaged in the processing of farmed products, which requires specific technology and investment. The small-scale enterprises with organic grain specialization are situated in the western, the most ecologically clean part of the country. The big-scale enterprises growing grains and oilseeds dominate in the reach with black soil eastern and southeastern part of the country. In the future, the organic businesses may occupy about 4.5 million hectares or 10% of all agricultural land in Ukraine for organic production. Scientific novelty. Geographical view on organic agricultural production includes analysis of its spatial distribution, integrated approach to the study of factors that influence its development and industrial structure, identifying its geospatial consequences as practical implementation of optimal model of agricultural landscapes. The practical significance.
