The author defines theconcepts of “social protection of customs officials”, as well as “functions of social protection ofcustoms officials”. The list of the main general and special functions of social protection of thespecified group of workers is determined. Special attention is paid to the study of a group of specialfunctions of social protection of customs officials, among which the following functions are ofparticular importance: organizational, stimulating, informational, controlling, socialrehabilitation, as well as the function of increasing the level of confidence of customs officials in state bodies and the state as a whole. The conclusions of the article summarize the results of thestudy.Стаття присвячена формуванню актуальної наукової думки щодо сутності тапереліку функцій соціального захисту працівників митних органів в Україні. Авторомвизначаються поняття «соціальний захист працівників митних органів», а також«функції соціального захисту працівників митних органів». Окреслюється перелік основнихзагальних і спеціальних функцій соціального захисту вказаної групи працівників. Особливаувага приділяється дослідженню групі спеціальних функцій соціального захиступрацівників митних органів, серед яких особливого значення набувають такі функції:організаційна, стимулююча, інформаційна, контролююча, соціально-реабілітаційна, атакож функція підвищення рівня довіри працівників митних органів до державних органівта до держави загалом.
