It is noted that one of the promising directions of the development of the national education system should be its digitalization, since digital technologies make the educational process mobile, differentiated and individual, provide a number of new opportunities for both teachers and students. Thanks to digitalization, the educational process becomes more personalized, accessible and flexible, which, in turn, provides comfortable conditions for self-learning, effective development and career growth. Attention was drawn to the fact that various aspects of the implementation of digitalization in the educational space were the subject of research by both foreign and domestic scientists. However, despite the interest shown by the scientific community, the issue of introducing digitalization into the modern educational space requires further research, especially today in the conditions of martial law in the country and the need for distance learning. It was noted that in the absence of a formed and balanced policy in this direction, the sphere of digital competences in Ukraine develops chaotically and mostly separately from formal education, which significantly affects both the quality of human capital formation and the possibility of its realization. It was concluded that today there is no doubt that the world of digital technologies in general, and education in particular, is not only a new logical stage in the development of the technological sphere of humanity, but also the entire existing legal and socio-political reality. Focusing on digitalization of education for Ukraine is the right and only way to reduce such a significant gap in international indicators compared to other countries of the world. This issue is further exacerbated by the state of war in the country and the need for distance learning.Метою статті є дослідження питань цифровізації освіти в Україні як одного із пріоритетних напрямків розвитку дистанційного навчання, на підставі чого зроблено наступні висновки. Зазначено, що одним із перспективних напрямів розвитку вітчизняної системи освіти повинна стати її цифровізація, оскільки цифрові технології роблять освітній процес мобільним, диференційованим та індивідуальним, надають ряд нових можливостей, як для викладачів так і для студентів. Завдяки цифровізації освітній процес стає більш персоналізованим, доступним і гнучким, що, у свою чергу, забезпечує комфортні умови для самонавчання, ефективного розвитку та кар’єрного зростання. Звернено увагу, що різні аспекти впровадження цифровізації в освітній простір були предметом дослідження як зарубіжних, так і вітчизняних учених. Однак, незважаючи на проявлений науковою спільнотою інтерес, питання впровадження цифровізації в сучасний освітній простір потребують свого подальшого дослідження, особливо сьогодні в умовах воєнного стану в країні та необхідності дистанційного навчання. Зауважено, що за відсутності сформованої та виваженої політики в цьому напрямі сфера цифрових компетенцій в Україні розвивається хаотично та переважно окремо від формальної освіти, що суттєво впливає як на якість формування людського капіталу, так і на можливість його реалізації. Зроблено висновок, що сьогодні немає сумніву в тому, що світ цифрових технологій загалом, та освіти зокрема, це не лише новий логічний етап розвитку технологічної сфери людства, а й усієї існуючої правової та соціально-політичної реальності. Зосередитися на цифровізації освіти для України це правильний і єдиний спосіб скоротити настільки відчутний розрив у міжнародних показниках порівняно з іншими країнами світу.
