С. 118-128.УДК 338.48-44https://ir.library.knu.ua/handle/15071834/8952В статті розглянуто найбільш репрезентативні природні об’єкти Столових гір на прикладі скельних міст Великого Щілинцю, Блукаючих Скель та Броумовський Стін та окреслено основні проблеми дослідження їх генезису і сучасних геоморфологічних процесів.The paper shows the most representative natural objects of the Table Mountains and the main problems of studying their genesis and modern geomorphological processes. Rock cities are unique geomorphological natural objects. They are forming by various geomorphological processes - tectonic, gravitation, surface and underground picking, karst, fluvial, eolian etc. The main condition for the formation of such "geomorphological cities" is a special combination of structural and lithological and climatic factors. The most suitable for their development are arrays composed of sandstones, limestones, dolomite, conglomerates, tuffs. The sufficient strength of the rocks to support the steep facades combined with tectonic cracking determine the nature of weathering and erosion dismemberment with the formation of cracks, gorges, forming complex labyrinths of "streets" and "squares" among "rock quarters". Despite the great scientific interest in rock cities, there is no universal scientifically grounded model of their evolution and scenario of their modern dynamics. It is unknown whether they were once the only massif (perhaps an element of some coastal structure of the epicontinental sea), later divided as a result of tectonic alterations into isolated rocks cities.
