The development of an independent Ukraine is impossible without the patriotic education of young people. At the current stage of the formation of a democratic Ukrainian state based on the rule of law and its integration into the EU, it is important to educate highly moral individuals who are patriots of their country. Only citizens who love their people and their state and are ready to devote themselves to building and defending it can develop a state based on the rule of law. Such citizens can be educated through the development of national education, in which the system of education and training is based on the ideas of Ukraine's heroic history, rich culture, and the fundamentals of Ukrainian studies. The socio-political relevance of the topic lies in the need to preserve the oral memories of Stepan Chubenko's parents, friends, classmates, brothers-in-arms, acquaintances, and to disseminate information about the young hero and his works among his fellow countrymen and people from other regions of Ukraine.The purpose of the article is to investigate the personality formation of the young Kramatorsk hero Stepan Chubenko, his participation in pro-Ukrainian actions in November 2013–June 2014, and its consequences.Conclusions. Thus, the article traces the formation of the personality of the young Kramatorsk hero Stepan Chubenko, his participation in pro-Ukrainian actions in November 2013 – July 2014, and their consequences. It has been established that Stepan Chubenko's national consciousness and patriotism began to form when the young man became a player for the local FC Avangard and a member of the Ultras Kramatorsk group during his acquaintance with representatives of the national scout organisation Plast and members of the Kramatorsk city party organisation of the All-Ukrainian Union, Svoboda. His parents also contributed to their son's national and patriotic upbringing. As a participant in Euromaidan and pro-Ukrainian rallies in Kramatorsk, which was captured by militants of the “DPR”, and who gave his life for his native Homeland, Stepan Chubenko is the pride of his native city, the Donetsk region and Ukraine, and a heroic phenomenon in the struggle for the country's sovereignty.Актуальність. Розбудова незалежної України неможлива без патріотичного виховання молоді. На сучасному етапі становлення правової демократичної української держави та її інтеграції до ЄС важливим є питання виховання високоморальної особистості – патріота своєї країни. Розвивати правову державу можуть лише громадяни, які люблять свій народ, державу, готові самовіддано розбудовувати її та захищати. Виховати таких громадян можна за умови розвитку національної освіти, у якій система виховання та навчання ґрунтується на ідеях української героїчної історії, багатої культури, основ українознавства. Суспільно-політична актуальність теми полягає в необхідності збереження усних спогадів про Степана Чубенка його батьків, друзів, однокласників, побратимів,  знайомих, у поширенні інформації про юного героя та його творів з-поміж земляків та людей з інших регіонів України. Мета роботи – дослідити становлення особистості юного краматорського героя Степана Чубенка, його участь у проукраїнських акціях у листопаді 2013 року – червні 2014 року та її наслідки. Висновки. Таким чином, у статті простежено становлення особистості юного краматорського героя Степана Чубенка, його участь у проукраїнських акціях у листопаді 2013 року – липні 2014 року та її наслідки. З’ясовано, що національна свідомість і патріотизм Степана Чубенка почали формуватися, коли юнак став гравцем місцевого ФК «Авангард» й учасником групи «Ультрас Краматорськ», під час його знайомства з представниками національної скаутської організації «Пласт», членами Краматорської міської партійної організації Всеукраїнського об’єднання «Свобода». Батьки також сприяли національно-патріотичному вихованню сина. Як учасник Євромайдану та проукраїнських мітингів у захопленому бойовиками «ДНР» Краматорську, який віддав життя за рідну Батьківщину, Степан Чубенко є гордістю рідного міста, Донеччини й України та героїчним феноменом боротьби за суверенітет країни.ukУкраїнаЄвромайданДонбасросійсько-українська війнафутболпатріотизмСтаття
