The development of the domestic housing market evaluated the economic and management criteria. The first included the analysis of socio-economic factors that shape demand, supply and price in the housing market, their territorial differences and features that occur on different areas. Management criteria of market functioning touch answers of the influence of levers efficiency on the housing market. The main among them marked shortage of living quarters supply that is too complex and the difficult mechanism of licensing procedures, government support and the support of government programs in the construction industry, support the mortgage, maintenance procedures and guaranteed investment housing, restrictions on fraud in the housing market.Розглядаються теоретико-методичні та прикладні засади формування ринку житла. Розвиток вітчизняного ринку житла оцінено за економічними та управлінськими критеріями. Перші передбачали аналіз соціально-економічних чинників, які формують попит, пропозицію та ціну на ринку житла, їх територіальні відміни й особливості прояву на різних територіях. Управлінські критерії функціонування ринку торкались питань ефективності важелів впливу на ринок житла.
