In modelling the image of Marusa, Lyubov Yanovska used the maximum number of tools (83 %), paying attention to the presentation of the girl's emotional state. Fewer characterization tools (67 %) were used to create the image of the Cossack Maxim in general and to show his emotional states in particular. The smallest amount (33 %) of means of characterization was used to model the image of Ivan, which is caused, in our opinion, by the subsidiarity of his image. The conclusions indicate that in Lyubov Yanovska's comedy "On Milanka" the figurative system is determined by the leitmotif of historical memory, the preservation of Ukrainian traditions. The largest number of characterization tools were used to model the image of Marusa, in particular her internal state, which is due to the writer's deep awareness of the specifics of the female world, as well as the challenges (threat to women's happiness, gradual disappearance of the historical memory of the glorious past of the Ukrainian people) that arise before the representative of the younger generation – the continuation of the father's work in preserving folk traditions.Метою статті було з'ясування особливостей образної комедії Любові Яновської "На Миланки". Моделюючи образ Марусі, Любов Яновська використала максимальну кількість засобів (83 %), приділивши увагу презентації емоційного стану дівчини. Менше засобів характеротворення (67 %) було використано для створення образу козака Максима загалом й оприявнення його емоційних станів зокрема. Найменшу кількість (33 %) засобів характеротворення використано для моделювання образу Івана, що зумовлено, на нашу думку, субсидіарністю його образу. У висновках зазначено, що в комедії Любові Яновської "На Миланки" образна система детермінована лейтмотивом історичної пам'яті, збереження українських традицій. Найбільшу кількість засобів характеротворення використано для моделювання образу Марусі, зокрема її внутрішнього стану, що зумовлено глибокою обізнаністю письменниці щодо специфіки жіночого світу, а також викликами (загроза жіночому щастю, поступове зникнення історичної пам'яті про славне минуле українського народу), які виникають перед представницею молодого покоління – продовжувачкою справи батька в збереженні народних традицій.ukleitmotifimage systemmeans of characterizationcharacterлейтмотивобразна системазасоби характеротворенняперсонажСтаття
