В результаті зіставлення метафоричних одиниць виділено універсальні й етнокультурні компоненти.The article discusses explications of the concept "STUDENT" by analyzing metaphors in the works of Ivan Franko and Charles Dickens. Referencing the literary-artistic discourse is an effective way of researching concepts, because this kind of discourse is the combination of author's individual and collective subconscious components. Terminology for the analysis of metaphorical structures are donor and recipient areas.
