The Ukrainian Canadian Congress currently occupies one of the leading positions in the public and political life of the Ukrainian diaspora in North America. Having political contacts with the federal government and the government of Ukraine, developing its own extensive organisational structure and gaining practical experience, it lobbies for the interests of Ukrainians. Today, there are several studies devoted to the activities of the Congress in domestic and foreign historiography. However, these works were carried out more than ten years ago on a limited source base (at that time, digitised documents from Canadian archives were not available, and documents from the Sectoral State Archive of the Security Service of Ukraine had not been declassified). Now that this opportunity has arisen, the author has taken advantage of it and provides a comprehensive and in-depth coverage of the Congress's activities. The purpose of this article is to trace and analyse the role and activities of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress in preserving national culture, language, literature, traditions and customs outside the historical homeland in conditions of statelessness, and in supporting the Ukrainian nation and army in their struggle against Russian occupiers in the context of Ukrainian history and the problem of studying the history of the entire Worldwide Ukrainianhood from the interwar period to the present day. Conclusions. Canadian Ukrainianhood and their leadership in the form of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress and its constituent organisations are carrying out a vital historical mission to support Ukrainian statehood and preserve culture, traditions and customs by establishing and developing their own extensive school system, higher education system, a network of research institutions, charitable and community foundations, cultural and educational societies and community organisations, and the media – its own Ukrainian-language periodicals, television and radio broadcasting – and lobbying for the interests of the Ukrainian nation in Canada.Актуальність. Конгрес українців Канади нині посідає одне з провідних місць у громадському та політичному житті української діаспори в Північній Америці. Маючи політичні контакти з федеральним урядом та урядом України, розвиваючи власну розгалужену організаційну структуру та набуваючи практичного досвіду, він лобіює інтереси українців. На сьогодні у вітчизняній і зарубіжній історіографії існує декілька досліджень, присвячених діяльності Конгресу. Проте ці роботи виконувалися понад десять років тому на обмеженій джерельній базі (тоді не були доступні оцифровані документи з канадських архівів, а також не пройшли процедуру розсекречення документи Галузевого державного архіву Служби безпеки України). Нині така можливість з’явилася, і автор скористався нею. Мета статті – простеження і аналіз ролі та діяльності Конгресу українців Канади з метою збереження національної культури, мови і літератури, традицій і звичаїв за межами історичної батьківщини в умовах бездержавності та підтримки української нації і війська у боротьбі з російськими окупантами в контексті української історії та проблеми вивчення історії світового українства від міжвоєнного періоду до сьогодення.            Висновки.
