The study emphasizes the evolution of internet language, blending elements of written and oral discourse, and its role in shaping user interactions and digital identities on platforms like Facebook. It also addresses the challenges of digital inequality and misinformation, stressing the importance of digital literacy in navigating the complexities of modern communication landscapes. To investigate the Internet’s rich slang, abbreviations and other various literacy practices and their influence on different demographic groups (specifically different age groups) we created a small corpus of Facebook comments (500 commentaries to 27 posts) and analyzed the reactions of different commentators to posts, and examined the dialogs and polylogs within the open communication space of the social network.Це дослідження розглядає комунікацію в середовищі соціальних мереж. Воно підкреслює відмінні мовні особливості, що поширені в онлайн-взаємодіях, такі як сленг, емотикони та абревіатури. Дослідження акцентує увагу на еволюції Інтернет-мови, що поєднує елементи писемного та усного дискурсу, та її ролі у формуванні взаємодій користувачів та цифрових ідентичностей на платформах на кшталт Facebook. Також вона звертає увагу на виклики цифрової нерівності та дезінформації, важливість цифрової грамотності в умовах сучасної комунікації.
