Using the experience of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army is important for strengthening the national-patriotic education of Ukrainian citizens during the Russian-Ukrainian war. In the modern Ukrainian state, understanding the history of the creation, activities, achievements, and miscalculations of the Ukrainian rebels is insufficient, so scientists have much to work on and implement their new knowledge into the educational process. The purpose of the study is to carry out Ukrainian studies analysis of the history of creation, activities, achievements, and miscalculations of the UІA on the basis of literature and memoirs and to show the possible use of the experience of Ukrainian insurgents to strengthen the national-patriotic education of Ukrainian citizens in the conditions of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Conclusions. It is shown that the fighters for the independence of Ukraine - the soldiers and commanders of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army for more than ten years continued an intense and bloody struggle for the restoration of the Ukrainian Independent Cathedral State. The controversial role of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army in the Volyn tragedy is outlined. The actions of the Ukrainian insurgents, who did not allow the Bolsheviks in 1946–1947 to spread terror through hunger on the territory of Western Ukraine and adjacent lands, are characterized. Features of the functioning of the Security Service in the Ukrainian Insurgent Army are shown. It has been proven that the main achievements of the Ukrainian insurgents were the creation of a strong and flexible organizational structure of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army: the qualitative improvement of partisan tactics of fighting against the enemy (raids, ambushes, sabotage, reconnaissance); deploying a powerful propaganda war against enemies and spreading its influence over the local Ukrainian population. It was revealed that, despite the defeat, the liberation cause of the rebels did not die but was inherited by Ukrainian dissidents, which eventually led to the restoration of the Ukrainian Independent United State in 1991.
