Its analysis, starting with determination the nature, classifications, choice to the charactristic of "active" and "interactive" methods in the process of studying has been done.Scientific interest in the teaching methods among scientists is one of the largest categories of pedagogy. This is because the method, as a way, has a direct contact with the student in the process of knowledge transfer, formation skills. As to the knowledge of the essence of method, the ability to use it, to find new or more efficient approaches depends on the quality of teaching and learning of future specialists with higher education. It is to this sequence of set problems corresponds to the logic of scientific research by scientists.If you ask a question, does the quality of students' knowledge increase as to the teachers' knowledge of the essence of the concept "teaching method"? The answer is – no. If you use definitions that characterize the outside of the techniques (such as the vast majority). However, when we consider the internal features of methods then the answer is – yes. When the teacher does not know the classification of teaching methods – their use is often empirical, accidental. On the contrary, the knowledge of classifications gives an opportunity reasonably choose the one that is most effective for solving of specific learning tasks.In its turn the knowledge of the essence of "active" and "interactive" methods will help to use them effectively to achieve specific educational tasks for the formation of a high level of intellectual and abstract, practical, creative potential of future specialists in higher education.The logic of development the theory of teaching methods affirms the focusing attention of modern specialists in didactics on the outside shows of efficiency the teaching methods. But at the same time, it convinces us that the future is in increasing the teaching methods of effectiveness using internal mechanisms – тeuro-linguistic, communicative, eidetic and others.В статті розглядаються теоретичні аспекти розвитку категорії дидактики вищої школи – методів навчання.Здійснено її аналіз, починаючи з визначення сутності, класифікацій, вибору до характеристики "активних" та "інтерактивних" методів в навчальному процесі.Логіка розвитку теорії методів навчання свідчить про акцентування уваги сучасних дидактів на зовнішню сторону проявів ефективності методів навчання.
