To achieve the scientific goal, the author highlighted the meaning of the concept of "guarantee" in its most general interpretation. The peculiarities of the "legal guarantees" category are revealed. In the future, the work of scientists regarding the understanding of the concept of "social guarantees" is clarified. The specifics of the normative and legal consolidation of the content of social guarantees in the current legislation of Ukraine are also analyzed. Attention is focused on the identified shortcomings in various doctrinal approaches to the formation of the content of the studied concept, as well as the construction of its normative and legal definition. Based on the synthesis of the researched material, it is proposed to define the concept of social guarantees of the personnel of the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine using a narrow and broad approach. Significant legal features of the studied concept are also highlighted.У статті здійснено аналіз наукових напрацювань з метою всебічного з'ясування сутності, змісту та природи соціальних гарантій особового складу Державної служби спеціального зв’язку та захисту інформації України. Для досягнення наукової мети автором висвітлено зміст поняття «гарантії» у його найбільш загальному трактуванні. Розкрито особливості категорії «юридичні гарантії». Надалі з’ясовано напрацювання вчених стосовно розуміння поняття «соціальні гарантії». Також проаналізовано специфіку нормативно-правового закріплення змісту соціальних гарантій у чинному законодавстві України. Акцентовано увагу на виявлених недоліках у різних доктринальних підходах до формування змісту досліджуваного поняття, а також конструювання його нормативно-правового визначення. На підставі синтезу дослідженого матеріалу запропоновано визначати поняття соціальних гарантій особового складу Державної служби спеціального зв’язку та захисту інформації України за вузьким та широким підходом.
