Book I covers the reign of emperor Commodus (180–192 AD). The Ukrainian translation of the work is published for the first time in bilingual form. The scientific editor of the translation is Lesia Zvonska, Dlitt., professor of the department of general linguistics, classical philology and neo-hellenistic studies of the Educational and scientific institute of philology of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. "Історія Римської держави після Марка Аврелія" (Τῆς μετὰ Μάρκον βασιλείας ἱστορίας βιβλία ὀκτώ), у якому описуються події в політичному житті Римської імперії зі 180 до 238 р. н. е., тобто від смерті Марка Аврелія до приходу до влади Гордіана ІІІ. Книга І охоплює правління імператора Комода (180–192 рр. н. е.). Переклад твору українською публікується вперше у двомовному вигляді.
