Особливу увагу приділено порівняльному аналізу періодизацій епохи українського Бароко, запропонованих науковцями, зроблено акцент на актуальності проблеми періодизації епохи українського Бароко загалом. Обґрунтовано спільні й відмінні риси у трактуванні періоду Раннього бароко В. Шевчуком і В. Яременком. Проаналізовано проблему періодизації епохи Бароко загалом, і періодизації В. Шевчука та В. Яременка зокрема.The article is an attempt to explore the features of the interpretation of the Early Baroque epoch by V. Shevchuk and V. Yaremenko in their scientific works. Particular attention is paid to the comparative analysis of the periodizations of these scientists, the еmphasis is made on the urgency of the problem of periodization of the Baroque epoch in general. Common and distinctive features in the interpretation of the Early Baroque by V. Shevchuk and V. Yaremenko are substantiated. V. Shevchuk defines this period as the part of the Renaissance epoch. The scientist considers that it begins with the creativity of I. Vyshensky and continues until the establishment of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. In addition, it is cultivated not only in Kiev, but also in Western Ukraine, often combines with the Renaissance. But V. Yaremenko pays attention only to the influence of the culture of the European Renaissance on this period and considers that it begins in the 80 years of the ХVІ century. However, the scientist considers that the idea of the Renaissance of the ancient culture with its humanistic essence is not artificially introduced to Ukraine, because the elements of the ancient culture are acquired in Ukrainian literature constantly and organically. Both scientists emphasize that the Renaissance features originally combine with the Baroque features, at the same time there is aesthetic conjunction with the poetics of the Middle Ages during the Early Baroque period. Moreover, in both conceptions the epoch of the Ukrainian Baroque is considered in conjunction with the European one, which indicates the entrance of Ukraine into Western European space. However, V.
