Об'єктом дослідження є маніпулятивні прийоми у промовах сучасних англомовних політиків. Предметом дослідження є вербальні засоби комунікації. Мета роботи - дослідити лінгвістичні прийоми впливу на свідомість реципієнта у промовах політиків під час виборчих кампаній. Завдання передбачають: вивчення поняття політичного дискурсу та маніпуляції; визначення сутності маніпулятивного впливу на свідомість людини, аналіз вербальних засобів комунікації; дослідження конкретних прикладів використання англійської мови в маніпулятивних стратегіях і тактиках.This study explores political discourse, focusing on presidential communication during election campaigns and inaugural addresses. The relevance of the study is the insights into language of power and persuasion and shaping public opinion and political influence. The object of the study is the manipulative techniques in modern English-speaking politicians' speeches. The subject of the study is focused on verbal means of communication. The aim is to investigate the linguistic methods of impacting the recipient's consciousness in the speeches of politicians during election campaigns. The objectives involve: study of the concept of political discourse and manipulation; definition of the essence of manipulative influence on human consciousness, analysis of verbal means of communication; examination of specific examples of English use in manipulative strategies and tactics. Overall, political discourse is a tool used to influence public opinion, involving various persuasive strategies. The concept of manipulation includes six strategies and twenty tactics.
