Український психологічний журнал, 2(8), 163–179.УДК 159.92https://ir.library.knu.ua/handle/15071834/26505The paper presents the theoretical analysis of the concept of hardiness as integral personal characteristics of the volunteer in connection with motivation of volunteer activity. The article describes the directions of volunteer activity research. Each of them answers on three questions – who are volunteers, why do they help others and how do volunteers work – about the practical aspects of volunteer activity, barriers and the way of increasing the effectiveness of volunteer activity. The first direction of volunteer activity research is about the personal psychological traits and characteristics of volunteers. The integral one of the main of them is the hardiness. The second direction of volunteer activity research is about motivation of volunteer activity. Personal traits and motivation of volunteers are reflected in the system of psychological determinants of volunteer activity namely in internal determinants. This article attempts to investigate the correlation between personal determinants and needful-motivational. The substantive aspects and features of the manifestation of volunteer activity in accordance with such structural components of hardiness as commitment, control and challenge and in accordance with motivation of volunteer activity are described. The article includes the results of the correlation analysis between the hardiness and the diagnostic parameters reflecting the psychological characteristics of the motivation of volunteer. We found a direct significant correlation between hardiness, its structural components of «commitment», «challenge» with motivational orientation towards work. In addition, we established the inverse significant correlation between «control», «challenge» and motivational orientation towards money. Motivational orientation towards work is a key moment for correlations for a volunteer sample, and for non-volunteers, there is a motivational orientation toward power.У статті представлено теоретичний аналіз поняття «життєстійкості» як інтегральної особистісної характеристики волонтера у зв’язку із мотивацією волонтерської діяльності. У статті описано напрями дослідження волонтерської діяльності. Ці напрями дають відповіді на питання: хто такі волонтери, що їх спонукає допомагати іншим та як волонтери здійснюють свою діяльність, тобто практичний аспект діяльності волонтерів, труднощі і пошук шляхів підвищення її ефективності. Перший напрям досліджень розкриває психологічні особистісні характеристики волонтерів. Життєстійкість виступає в якості інтегральної особистісної характеристики. Другий напрям досліджень присвячений мотивації волонтерської діяльності. Особистісні якості волонтера і його мотивація, що відображені у перших двох описаних вище напрямах досліджень, знаходять свій вияв у системі психологічних детермінант волонтерської діяльності. Розкривається зв’язок між блоком особистісних та потребово-мотиваційних психологічних детермінант волонтерської діяльності.
