Український психологічний журнал(2), 7–18.https://ir.library.knu.ua/handle/15071834/27200The article highlights an empirical research of Eastern and Western Ukraine residents’ structure of perceptions about mutual understanding on values as a prerequisite of all-society accordance. 50 respondents in both Mariupol and Lviv were asked to formulate radio appeals to inhabitants of Western Ukraine and the occupied part of Donbas. The third question was to determine who to whom and for what should apologize after the war in Donbas. The differences between two cities respondents’ estimations had both disunited and unifying contents. Essentially disunited position was more common among Mariupol residents: requirement for Western Ukrainians not to interfere in Donbas affairs. The respondents were moderately differed with Mariupol residents’ confused attitudes and focus on material hardships, on the one hand, and Lviv residents’ insistence on fostering Ukrainian patriotism, hope for God’s help, and calls for Donbas inhabitants to act, not wait, on the other hand. The unifying differences appeared in mutual positive assessments and suggestions. Mariupol respondents suggested peace and well-being to Western Ukraine, more actively supported the unity and understanding despite the existing differences, appealed residents of the occupied territories to recollect themselves and stop the war. Lviv citizens vigorously urged to act for the benefit of Ukraine. The identified similarities were about the similar positions of both cities respondents: sympathetic attitudes to Donbas residents, denial of separatism, a damnation of Russia’s military aggression, and criticism of Russian propaganda. There also were two issues which were equally controversial in assessments of both cities respondents. In one case, charges to residents of Donbas were opposed with impunitive position “nobody is specifically guilty”. In second one, the accusation of the Ukrainian authorities was opposed with intrapunitive charging “all of us”.За результатами інтерв’ювання мешканців Маріуполя і Львова (по 50 осіб) із приводу воєнно-політичних подій на Донбасі виявлено відмінне і подібне в змісті їхніх оцінок.
