We scrutinize the issue through the prism of both economic theory and historical development, in an attempt to contend that economic integration is no less lucrative on a transcontinental level than it used to be on a regional level. We use theoretical and historical arguments to emphasize the necessity and opportunity of a trade and investment agreement between the United States and the European Union, which is likely to turn the Atlantic into a redoubtable economic pole. We show that Europe and America are full readiness to enter into this paramount agreement.Розглядається трансатлантична економічна інтеграція, що настає, через призму як економічної теорії, так і історичного розвитку. Стверджується, що економічна інтеграція на трансконтинентальному рівні є не менш прибутковою, ніж на регіональному рівні. Використано теоретичні та історичні аргументи, щоб підкреслити необхідність і можливість укладення торговельної та інвестиційної угоди між Сполученими Штатами і Європейським Союзом, що, імовірно, перетворить Атлантику на могутній економічний полюс.
