Досліджено співвідношення цінностей українського етносу та цінностей західної цивілізації.Relevance of the research. The issue of Ukraine's civilisational choice has always been relevant, and it has become particularly acute during the current Russian-Ukrainian war. Accordingly, the relevance of the research of the correlation between ethnic Ukrainian values as the basic foundations of the most numerous titular ethnic group in Ukraine with the values of Western civilisation is only increasing. Since an ethnic group is a special social community that has its own values, we consider the following items to be ethnic values are those objects, actions, and phenomena that are significant for this community. In our opinion, these include the language, symbols, and typical features of a particular ethnic group, territory, symbols, typical character traits, customs, and way of life, traditions of state-building (in cases of creation of their own states). The purpose is to study the correlation between the values of the of the Ukrainian ethnic group and the values of Western civilisation (Euro-Atlantic values, values of the West). Conclusions. Ethnic values have their own specifics and meanings. Given their objectively determined smaller scale, they are compatible with European and Western values. Taking into account the current period of great turmoil and confrontation on the global world stage, the current Russian-Ukrainian war, it is problematic to find any pronounced universal values in the near future. Therefore, the civilisational values of the West are extremely important for Ukraine to find its geopolitical place in the world and to establish joint actions with partner states. Western values are very different from those of the rest of the world. In recent years, there has been a greater polarisation between the values of Western countries and those of other civilisations.
