He was born on June 30, 1968. He began his scientific career in 1988 as a laboratory assistant at the archaeological laboratory of Zaporizhzhya University. From 1992 to 2001, he worked at Zaporizhzhia National University as a research intern at the research department, senior researcher, and senior lecturer. In 1995, he defended his PhD thesis "Humanization of Ethnic Relations as a Factor in the Development of Freedom" (1995). Associate Professor of Department of Sociology, Political Science and Management Theory (2001). He completed his doctoral studies (1999) and defended his doctoral dissertation "Socio-philosophical Analysis of the Process of Formation and Functioning of Ethnic Mentality" at the Hryhorii Skovoroda Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Professor of the Department of Philosophy (2004). In 2001-2002, he was Dean of the Faculty of Specialist Training on a paid basis at the Zaporizhzhia Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Since 2002 – Professor, from 2005 to 2012 – Head of the Department of Philosophy at Donetsk National Technical University. In 2013-2014, he was a professor of the Department of Philosophy and Political Science at the Donetsk Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, and since 2005, he has been a professor of the Department of Philosophy at Donetsk National University. Member of the Specialized Academic Council for the Defense of Candidate Dissertations at Donetsk National University, specialty 09.00.03 – Social Philosophy and Philosophy of History. In 2014, with the outbreak of hostilities in Donbas, Donetsk National University was transferred from the ATO zone to Vinnytsia. 2014-2017 – Head of the Department of Philosophy of Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University. 2017-2021 – Head of the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of History and Philosophy, Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University. Since 2022, he has been the Head of the Department of Historical Monuments and Cultural Heritage at the Research Institute of Ukrainian Studies (RIUS) of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. After the reorganization of the Institute through its merger with the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in March 2024, he became the Director of RIUS. Under the leadership of R.O. Dodonov, he defended 1 doctoral and 12 PhD theses. Author of more than 400 publications of scientific, educational and methodological nature. Research interests: social philosophy and philosophy of history, history of philosophy, history and archeology, Ukrainian Studies.Роман Додонов
