It is pointed out that because of the process of globalization, there is a blurring of existing borders not only between states, but also between their worldview and value orientations, among which social security is of particular importance. Defining the formal place of social security in the context of globalization, the author concludes that the place of this security is characterized: by institutional provision of social security (universal and regional institutions); by regulatory and legal provision of social security (international legal acts of universal and regional significance); by procedural and processual provision of social security. Within the framework of understanding the actual place of social security in the context of globalization (the analysis is based on the resolutions of the UN Human Rights Council of 2021 No. 46/4, No. 46/10, No. 46/14, as well on the reports of special rapporteurs and notes of the UN Secretary-General on various issues of human social security), the hypothesis of a gap between the formal and actual place of social security in the context of globalization is substantiated. The conclusions of the article summarize the results of the study and also state that the actual place of social security in the context of globalization demonstrates that the subjects of globalization processes are not sufficiently concerned about social security issues (are ignore the complex of their duties in the social sphere, neglecting the highest social value – a person, his life and health).Стаття присвячена з’ясуванню місця соціальної безпеки в умовах глобалізації. Вказується на те, що в результаті процесу глобалізації має місце стирання існуючих кордонів не лише між державами, але й між їх світоглядом, ціннісними орієнтирами, серед яких особливого значення набуває соціальна безпека. Визначаючи формальне місце соціальної безпеки в умовах глобалізації, автор доходе думки, що його характеризують: інституційне забезпечення соціальної безпеки (універсальні та регіональні інститути); нормативно-правове забезпечення соціальної безпеки (міжнародно-правові акти універсального та регіонального значення); процедурно-процесуальне забезпечення соціальної безпеки. В межах осмислення фактичного місця соціальної безпеки в умовах глобалізації (аналіз ґрунтується на резолюціях Ради з прав людини ООН 2021 року № 46/4, № 46/10, № 46/14, а також доповідей спеціальних доповідачів та записок Генерального секретаря ООН з різних питань соціальної безпеки людини) обґрунтована гіпотеза про розрив між формальним та фактичним місцем соціальної безпеки в умовах глобалізації.
