When speaking about the theatre studies of L. Starytska- Cherniakhivska and the writer's profound familiarity with the specifics of theatrical life of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, it should be noted that the artist devoted exceptionally great attention to theatre scholarship. This has been emphasized by M. Zhulynskyi, L. Demianivska, L. Protsiuk, V. Shvets, I. Chernova, and others. It has been proven that the theatre studies of L. Starytska-Cherniakhivska remain relevant, as they "...represent the progress of the national spirit through the comprehension of national history" [1, p. 139]. The paper underscores the significance of the writer's theatre research in view of the tasks of Ukrainian scholarship on national dramaturgy and theatre. In her theatre studies, as in her literary works, the writer sought to emphasize and remind the Ukrainian people of their historical memory and their identity.Висвітлення особливостей розвитку, становлення українського театру складне явище, яке потребує ґрунтовної теоретико- критичної підготовки. Коли вести мову про театрознавчі праці Л. Старицької-Черняхівської, про глибинну обізнаність письменниці зі специфікою театрального життя періоДу кін. ХІХ- поч. ХХ ст., то слід зауважити, що мисткиня значну увагу приділяла театрознавчим студіям. На цьому наголошують М. Жулинський, Л. Дем'янівська, Л. Процюк, В. Швець, І. Чернова та інші літературознавці. Доведено, що театрознавчі розвідки Л. Старицької-Черняхівської є актуальними, оскільки "...репрезентують поступ національного духу через осягнення національної історії" (Процюк, 2023, с. 139). У праці відзначається значення театрознавчих досліджень письменниці з огляду завдань української науки про національну драматургію і театр. Авторка у своїх театрознавчих працях, як і в художніх творах, намагалася підкреслити і нагадати українському народові його історичну пам'ять, його ідентичність.uktheatre studiesthe works of L.
