In the collection of B. Tomenchuk, embroidery receives a new connotative content through the prism of the Russia-Ukraine war, symbolizing the historical continuity of the Ukrainian nation, its three-century-long confrontation with Russian barbarism. The collection was emerged as a reproduction of impressions, feelings, emotions, thoughts, interpretations and reinterpretations of one's own and social existence during the Russian war against Ukraine in 2014–2023 (it was published in 2023, and the war is still ongoing). The title of the collection “Embroider, Mom, a Bulletproof Vest” ambiguously indicates that in the war, Ukrainians stood up to defend their own centuries-old mentality and culture, among which many symbols-concepts stand out. It was precisely on the embroidery, the past encoded in it, its modern recoding that B. Tomenchuk focused attention in the title of the collection, which prompted him to distinguish it among the conceptual images of the selection The purpose is to consider the transformation of the symbolism of Ukrainian embroidery in Bohdan Tomenchuk’s collection “Embroider, Mom, a Bulletproof Vest”. Conclusions. The symbolism of embroidery receives special energy in B. Tomenchuk’s collection “Embroider, Mom, a Bulletproof Vest” (2023), as its name already indicates. The main motives of the collection are the reproduction of the centuries-old war of Ukraine against Muscovite-Russian aggression as a struggle of good against universal evil, which acquires the greatest aggravation during 2014–2023, the courage and indomitability of Ukrainian soldiers. Embroidery on a body armor in a symbolic meaning becomes a greater talisman of a Ukrainian soldier than the armored plates themselves. The timeless transcendence of embroidery in Ukrainian existence, of red and black colors as dominant in Western Ukrainian embroidery coloristics, is complemented by the concrete-historical symbolism of the red-black banner of the UPA army, affirming the continuity of the struggle. The traditional technique of cross-stitch embroidery for Western Ukraine gives rise to very frequent associations between embroidery and the cross as a symbol of the voluntarily chosen difficult fate of a warrior-defender. B. Tomenchuk from time to time creates a concentrated, in a few verses, harmoniously idyllic world of the past, present and future of the everyday-sacralized existence of Ukrainians, which constitutes their essence and for the sake of which no sacrifice will be excessive. Embroidery, embroidered objects receive their due place in such a system of conceptual symbols, and only in this system does it receive a full-fledged sound, making the greatest impression on readers.Актуальність. У збірці Б. Томенчука нове конотативне наповнення вишивка отримує крізь призму російсько-української війни, символізуючи історичну тяглість української нації, її тристалітнє протистояння до російського варварства.  Збірка постала як відтворення вражень, відчуттів, емоцій, думок, осмислень і переосмислень власного й суспільного буття в часи російської війни проти України 2014–2023 років (у 2023 році вона була видана, а війна триває і досі). Назва збірки «Вишийте, мамо, бронежилет» неоднозначно вказує на те, що у війні українці постали на захист власної багатовікової ментальності й культури, серед яких виокремлюється чимало символів-концептів. Та саме на вишивці, закодованій у ній праминувшині, сучасному її перекодуванні Б. Томенчук акцентував увагу в назві збірки, що й спонукало вирізнити її серед концептуальних образів добірки.         Мета – розглянути трансформацію символіки української вишивки у збірці Богдана Томенчука «Вишийте, мамо, бронежилет». Висновки. Особливої наснаженості символіка вишивки отримує у збірці Б. Томенчука «Вишийте, мамо, бронежилет» (2023), на що вказує вже її назва. Основні мотиви збірки – відтворення багатостолітньої війни України проти московсько-російської агресії як боротьби добра з уселенським злом, яка найбільшого загострення набуває протягом 2014–2023 років, мужності й незламності українських воїнів. Вишивка на бронежилеті в символічному значенні стає більшим оберегом українського воїна, ніж самі броньовані плити. Позачасова трансцендентність вишивки в українському бутті, червоної і чорної барв як домінантних у західноукраїнській вишивальницькій колористиці доповнюється конкретно-історичною символікою червоно-чорного стягу армії УПА, утверджуючи тяглість боротьби. Традиційна для Західної України техніка вишивання хрестиком зроджує дуже часті асоціації між вишивкою та хрестом як символом добровільно обраної важкої долі воїна-захисника. Б. Томенчук час від часу творить концентрований, на кілька версів, гармонійно-ідилічний світ минулого, сучасного й майбутнього повсякденно-сакралізованого буття українців, що становить їхню сутність і заради якого жодна жертва не буде надмірною.
