Інтенсивність та різні форми протікання орогідрографічних процесів є тими факторами, які прямо впливають на проведення миротворчих операцій. Розроблені дві спеціалізовані тематичні карти дозволили проаналізувати та виділити ступені прохідності місцевості в районах розгортання миротворчих контингентів та систематизувати екстремальні природні явища. Грунтуючись на такому аналізі було виділено групи країн за інтенсивністю та формами прояву відповідних процесів та явищ.Geographical and geomorphological features are being examined in the article in the course of peacekeeping units’ deployment with the participation of Ukrainian contingent. National peacekeepers participate in operations in countries with drastically different orohydrographical characteristics of underlying terrain in comparison to the major part of the Ukrainian terrain represented by the flat parts of the earth’s surface. Specific natural conditions of landscape largely determine the manoeuvrability of military units and the possibility to use special (including combat) equipment and weaponry. Participation in peacekeeping activities requires a set of consistent organizational activities to be taken for the purposes of peacekeeping operation, including special training of personnel and equipment for the proper functioning under various natural conditions in the course of peacekeeping operation. The developed two specialized thematic maps made it possible to analyse and specify the degree of terrain passability in the areas of peacekeeping contingents’ deployment as well as systematise extreme natural phenomena. Based on this analysis groups of countries have been selected in terms of the relevant processes and phenomena intensity and forms of appearance. Especially dangerous natural phenomena may lead to disastrous consequences that will prevent the deployment of peacekeeping units in a pre-determined period. The intensity and various forms of orohydrographical processes are those factors directly affecting the conduct of peacekeeping operations.
