Київ, 2024. 50 с.https://ir.library.knu.ua/handle/15071834/3058Дослідження розглядає види та функції пам’яті героїв роману Зеді Сміт «Білі зуби», філософське й концептуальне наповнення елементів ідентичності різних поколінь мігрантів-вихідців із колонізованих Британією територій та обґрунтовує доречність включення уривків роману до навчальної програми із зарубіжної літератури для середньої школи. У ході роботи проаналізовано ідентичності персонажів принагідно до типів пам’яті, обґрунтовано їх функції. Доведено зв’язок між оприявненням тілесності у романі та зв’язком тілесних образів з еволюцією ідентичностей персонажів на рівні символів та мотивів. Розглянуто особливості родинних наративів обох сімей. Науковою новизною роботи є спроба виокремлення видів та функцій культурної пам’яті персонажів, дослідження аспектів прояву їх ідентичностей крізь приму індивідуальних та родинних наративів, а також пропозиції включити твір до навчальної програми зарубіжної літератури та розробці плану-конспекту уроку для середньої школи.The study examines the types and functions of memory of the characters in Zadie Smith's novel White Teeth, the philosophical and conceptual content of the identity elements of different generations of migrants from the territories colonized by Britain, and substantiates the appropriateness of including excerpts from the novel in the foreign literature curriculum for secondary school. This goal required the implementation of the following tasks: to determine the range of relevant theories of identity and cultural memory, to study their concepts; to study the postcolonial and multicultural aspect of Zadie Smith's work; to analyze the manifestations of identity and the function of cultural memory on the examples of the characters in the novel; to track and interpret the relationship between the manifestations of the characters' physicality and the characters' search for their identities; to study existing curricula for secondary school students to provide them with texts that will contribute to the development of their own identities. In the course of the research, biographical, cultural-historical, comparative, intertextual, mythocritical methods were applied, as well as the works of researchers in postcolonial, multicultural, identity and memory studies. The scientific novelty of the work is an attempt to distinguish the types and functions of the characters' cultural memory, to study aspects of the manifestation of their identities through the use of individual and family narratives, and to propose the inclusion of the work in the foreign literature curriculum and the development of a lesson plan for secondary school. The author analyzes the identities of the characters in relation to the types of memory, and substantiates their functions. The connection between the disclosure of corporeality in the novel and the connection of corporeal images with the evolution of characters' identities at the level of symbols and motifs is proved.
