Since the radical changes in the political and economic life of Ukraine, as well as the course taken for European integration, require that the legislative acts developed and adopted by the law-making bodies of our state meet international standards of human rights in general, and international norms of labor law in particular. And today, issues related to the employee's right to privacy at the workplace are among the priorities in the field of work. After all, in almost every country, workers are vulnerable to comprehensive control by management. In particular, employers can listen to telephone conversations, read e-mail messages and information on the computer monitor of their employees, eavesdrop on conversations, analyze the operation of the computer and keyboard, use equipment to monitor and control the actions of individuals, etc. Also, in connection with the intensive development of computer technologies and the processing of personal information in automated information systems, the relevance of more detailed regulation of this right has increased. It was concluded that the study of international experience regarding the rights of employees to privacy at the workplace, the legal mechanisms for regulating their protection, as well as the basic principles of organizing measures for monitoring the implementation of legislation in this field will open opportunities to bring domestic laws and bylaws into line with international standards. in order to implement them in the interests of the citizens of our country. That is, the implementation of international standards and norms of European law regarding the rights of employees to privacy at the workplace into national legislation will increase the level of legal protection of employees.У статті проаналізовано міжнародно-правові документи щодо прав працівників на приватність на робочому місці. Оскільки, кардинальні зміни в політичному й економічному житті України, а також взятий курс на євроінтеграцію вимагають, щоб законодавчі акти, які розробляються та приймаються нормотворчими органами нашої держави, відповідали міжнародним стандартам прав людини загалом, і міжнародним нормам трудового права зокрема. І сьогодні до пріоритетних у сфері праці належать і питання, пов’язані із правом працівника на приватність на робочому місці. Адже майже в кожній країні працівники є вразливими стосовно всебічного контролю з боку керівництва. Зокрема, роботодавці можуть прослуховувати телефонні розмови, читати повідомлення електронної пошти та інформацію на моніторі комп'ютера своїх працівників, підслуховувати розмови, аналізувати роботу комп'ютера й клавіатури, використовувати обладнання для стеження та контролю за діями осіб тощо. Також у зв’язку з інтенсивним розвитком комп’ютерних технологій та обробкою персональної інформації в автоматизованих інформаційних системах зросла актуальність більш детального регулювання цього права. Зроблено висновок, що дослідження міжнародного досвіду щодо прав працівників на приватність на робочому місці, правових механізмів регулювання їх захисту, а також основних принципів організації заходів стосовно контролю за виконанням законодавства у цій галузі відкриє можливості привести у відповідність до міжнародних стандартів вітчизняні закони та підзаконні акти з тим, щоб втілити їх у життя в інтересах громадян нашої держави.
