Характеристики посухи дозволяють проводити такі операції, як раннє попередження про посуху та суховії та аналіз ризику події, що дозволить ефективніше передбачувати надзвичайні ситуації. Ефективні системи раннього попередження про посуху повинні базуватися на декількох показниках, щоб повністю описати масштабність та серйозність даної події. У цій роботі загальнодоступні показники метеорологічної посухи досліджуються на їх придатність для визначення інтенсивності посухи та її суворості, а також визначається частота повторюваності суховіїв.Drought isa part of the natural climate cycle, which usually affects large areas and can last for months or even years. This is a complex phenomenon with large-scale environmental and socio-economic consequences and is considered as one of the most expensive natural hazards worldwide to deal with. Drought characteristics allow for operations such as early prevention of drought and sukhovey as well as risk analysis, which allow more effective prediction of emergencies. Effective early drought prevention systems should be based on several indicators to fully describe the scale and severity of the event. In this work, publicly available indicators of meteorological drought are investigated for their suitability to determine the intensity of drought and its severity, as well as the frequency of recurrence of sukhoveys. Purpose of work.Identify the features of the spatio-temporal distribution of drought phenomena in Ukraine in context of current global climate change. Objectives of study: • establishing the peculiarities of the spatio-temporal distribution of drought phenomena in Ukraine; • assessment of the variability of quantitative indicators of droughts and sukhoveys. Object of research:drought phenomena on the territory of Ukraine. Subject of research: spatio-temporal distribution of droughts. Scientific novelty of the obtained results.
