Зокрема у статті охарактеризована сучасна ситуація щодо розвитку лікувально-оздоровчого туризму в Тернопільській області. З метою визначення обізнаності населення щодо можливостей лікувально-оздоровчого туризму в області здійснено опитування (методом анкетування). Застосування методу SWOT-аналізу дозволило стверджувати, що Тернопільська область має достатньо ресурсів та можливостей для розвитку лікувально-оздоровчого туризму, проте, не зважаючи на позитивні передумови і зацікавленість потенційних рекреантів, залишається низка проблем, які стримують подальший розвиток галузі. Шляхами подолання їх визначено поширення позитивного іміджу регіону, вдосконалення туристичної інфраструктури, оновлення матеріальної бази санаторно-курортних закладів, а також підвищення кваліфікації зайнятих у даній галузі.The article is devoted to the analysis of tendencies and prospects of development of medical and health tourism in Ternopil region. In particular, the article describes the current situation regarding the development of health tourism in the Ternopil region. Information on the recreational potential and natural security of the region is provided. In order to determine the awareness of the population about the possibilities of health tourism in the region, a survey was conducted (by questionnaire). The application of the SWOT-analysis method allowed to state that Ternopil region has sufficient resources and opportunities for the development of health tourism, however, despite the positive conditions and interest of potential vacationers, there are a number of problems hindering further development of the industry. The ways to overcome them are to spread a positive image of the region, improve the tourist infrastructure, update the material base of sanatoriums, as well as improve the skills of those employed in this field. The conducted researches confirm the opinion that health tourism is promising direction of tourism development in the region, which is facilitated by available medical resources and natural conditions, which are similar in their indicators to the leading regional areas of Ukraine with the development of health tourism.
