The evolution and development of relations between the European Union and Ukraine, cooperation in the trade and economic sphere and in the sphere of security are shown. The role in the energy security of the European Union was studied, it was proved that the main advantage of the country lies in its geopolitical location. Political processes and prospects on the way to European integration are analyzed. The process of Europeanization involves a certain change in the consciousness of political and bureaucratic decisionmakers. Therefore, studies of approaches in candidate countries are needed to demonstrate how deep the process of Europeanization of foreign policy is. The research is aimed at determining the mechanisms of intercultural interactions through the phenomenon of Europeanization, the influence on the unification of the cultural and value dimension of European integration.Досліджується двосторонній процес, класифікація європеїзації, механізми європеїзації, наприклад, інституційний механізм, механізм відповідності, когнітивний механізм, кореляцію вибору європеїзації або глобалізації. Визначаючи європеїзацію як внутрішні зміни, з’ясовуються механізми, об’єкти, форми, критерії та умови змін. Узагальнено обґрунтованість концепції європеїзації в охопленні переплетеності національних і європейських сфер, що зростає, у галузях політики, тобто зовнішньої політики та політики безпеки. Досліджено методологічні проблеми, зумовлені головним чином недостатнім визначенням меж європеїзації та міжурядовим характером цієї галузі політики, а також особливості її застосування у сфері політики. Зазначається, що процес європеїзації передбачає певну зміну свідомості політичних, бюрократичних представників, які приймають рішення. Тому необхідні дослідження підходів у країнах-кандидатах, щоб продемонструвати, наскільки глибоким є процес європеїзації зовнішньої політики.
