На основі архівних документів та виданих наукових колективних монографій відділу розглянуто проблематику, яку розробляв відділ. Автор звертає увагу на рецепцію наукової роботи відділу членами вченої ради Інституту філософії. Автор доходить висновку, що дослідницька діяльність відділу була пов'язана з ідеологічною роботою Комуністичної партії Радянської України.The article is the continuation of the author's study of the Ivano-Frankivsk department of scientific atheism. To the contrast with the previous article, the research projects of the department and its connections with other atheistic structures of the Soviet Ukraine are investigated in the article. According to the Republican Scientific Coordinating Council on Problems of Atheistic Education, the department had three directions of research: sociological surveys of believers, elaboration of recommendations for the improvement of atheistic education, and criticism of the forbidden Ukrainian Catholic Church and its connection to the nationalistic ideology. There were four research projects at the department during the 1980's: "Interconnection between Atheistic and Moral Education and its Connection to the Formation of Communistic Worldview among Workers", "Evolution and Modern Forms of Interconnection between Uniate Clericalism and Ukrainian Bourgeois Nationalism and the Ways of Overcoming Religious and Nationalistic Survivals", "The Problems of Efficiency in the Management of the Overcoming of Religious Survivals", and "The Peculiarities of the Worldview Orientations of Modern Believers and the Actual Problems of Atheistic Education Efficiency". The author pays special attention to the reception of this research by the members of the academic council of the Philosophy Institute. There were doubts about the sociological surveys, conducted by the department, as well as about the formulation of the projects titles. The author of the article analyzes three academic books of the department and shows that they are full of Marxists' scholasticisms, ideological and propagandists' clichés. Nevertheless, there are some innovative statements and conclusions based on sociological surveys. For example, in the book "The Efficiency of the Management of Atheistic Education" the authors propose the typology of atheistic maturity levels, the structural model of religious typology, and the typology of believers according to their moral motivation. However, these typologies were created to improve atheistic education.
