Мета роботи полягає в осмисленні семантичних конотацій звуку, дослідженні образів та символів музики і пов’язаних із нею явищ та актантів у фольклорі та у відповідному середовищі побутування, яким є традиційне суспільство. Об’єктами дослідження є зразки української усної народної творчості. В першому, теоретичному, розділі наведено контекст побутування музики в традиційному суспільстві, розглянуто музику як складник міфологічної світобудови, застосовано компаративний метод дослідження уявлень різних народів світу про народну музику та її виконавців. У другому, практичному розділі проведений контекстуальний та текстологічний аналіз акціонального та ментального втілення музики, музичних інструментів, звуку, голосу у фольклорі на основі численних зразків чарівних казок, пісень, переказів, загадок. Таким чином дослідження на основі опрацьованих відомостей та зразків українського та світового фольклору розкриває особливості побутування та функціонування народної музики, дає погляд на особистісні якості її носіїв та виконавців і розкриває міфологічні засади її існування і сприйняття у свідомості членів традиційного суспільства.The work is devoted to the study of the concept of music in Ukrainian folklore. The relevance of the work lies in its novelty due to the small research of the concept earlier, the peculiarities of the perception of musicians, musical instruments, singing, voice, sounds by traditional society and the significant interest of the topic. The subject of the research is the existence of music in Ukrainian folklore and the analysis of its actional and mental embodiment. The purpose of the work is to understand the semantic connotations of sound, to study the images and symbols of music and related phenomena and actants in folklore and in the corresponding environment of life, which is traditional society. The objects of the study are samples of Ukrainian oral folk art. In the first, theoretical section, the context of the existence of music in traditional society is given, music is considered as a component of the mythological world structure, and the comparative method of researching the ideas of different peoples of the world about folk music and its performers is applied. In the second, practical section, a contextual and textological analysis of the actional and mental embodiment of music, musical instruments, sound, voice in folklore is carried out on the basis of numerous examples of magical tales, songs, tales, riddles.
